Information Services Director

Responsibilities

• Establish short and long-term strategic direction for the Information Services department
• Develop and implement technology policies, procedures, and support systems
• Oversee the development and maintenance of computer, audio, security, VHF Radio, and Microwave systems
• Prepare proposals, negotiate, and secure contracts for departmental services and governmental agencies
• Manage and monitor the department budget, payroll, and fiscal operations to ensure compliance
• Lead staff selection, orientation, and performance evaluations for department employees
• Provide oversight for the IS work order system and various departmental projects
• Communicate IS department services and recommendations to the Board of Commissioners and other officials

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Six years of progressively responsible computer system design and/or programming experience
• Three years of management responsibility and project management experience
• Valid driver’s license (if driving a vehicle for County business)

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of modern principles and practices in information and technology resource management
• Strong expertise in governmental fiscal management and budget preparation
• Advanced project management skills including risk management and team building
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and project management tools like Gantt charts
