About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Security Engineers, setting high standards for technical excellence and delivery.
- Design and build scalable, resilient security platforms and services across identity, cloud, endpoint, and application domains.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through system design, code reviews, and architectural decision-making.
- Drive an engineering-first approach by transitioning manual security controls to automated, system-enforced workflows.
- Make critical build vs. buy decisions by evaluating third-party technologies against internal development needs.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, Cloud, and GRC teams to align security solutions with business objectives and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure operational excellence by maintaining observable and reliable systems with strong monitoring and alerting.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Deep expertise in system design and architecture, specifically with distributed systems and API integrations.
- Proven experience designing and operating security platforms (e.g., IAM, cloud security, or vulnerability management).
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building internal security platforms, such as identity automation or security data pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Practical experience implementing security frameworks like NIST 800-53 or ISO 27001.
- Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP.
