Information Literacy/Reference Librarian

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons and staff
• Coordinate specialized instruction programming, including orientation and course-related bibliographic instruction
• Develop information literacy classes for undergraduate and graduate students
• Create and update LibGuides and FAQs, and monitor the Ask a Librarian platform
• Collaborate with library faculty to develop, implement, and assess new instructional initiatives
• Facilitate access to electronic resources by maintaining links and providing user support
• Serve as a liaison to specific departments, providing collection development and outreach
• Collect statistics and serve on library and University committees

Requirements

• Master of Library Services (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution
• At least one year of teaching or professional library experience
• Working knowledge of electronic reference databases and the Internet
• Proficiency in Springshare software (LibGuides, LibAnswers)
• Proficiency in Zoom software
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
