About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons and staff
- Coordinate specialized instruction programming, including orientation and course-related bibliographic instruction
- Develop information literacy classes for undergraduate and graduate students
- Create and update LibGuides and FAQs, and monitor the Ask a Librarian platform
- Collaborate with library faculty to develop, implement, and assess new instructional initiatives
- Facilitate access to electronic resources by maintaining links and providing user support
- Serve as a liaison to specific departments, providing collection development and outreach
- Collect statistics and serve on library and University committees
Requirements
- Master of Library Services (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution
- At least one year of teaching or professional library experience
- Working knowledge of electronic reference databases and the Internet
- Proficiency in Springshare software (LibGuides, LibAnswers)
- Proficiency in Zoom software
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
