Information Literacy/Reference Librarian

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons and staff.
• Develop and lead information literacy classes and specialized instruction programming for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Coordinate orientation, course-related bibliographic instruction, and in-house training.
• Collaborate with the Head of Reference Services to customize databases and maximize usability for the university community.
• Create and update LibGuides, FAQs, and manage the "Ask a Librarian" platform.
• Facilitate access to electronic resources by maintaining links and providing user support.
• Serve as a liaison to specific departments, providing collection development and outreach to faculty.
• Evaluate new library products and services and collect usage statistics.
• Serve on library and University committees.

Requirements

• Master of Library Services (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution.
• At least one year of teaching experience or professional-level library experience.
• Working knowledge of a wide variety of electronic reference databases and the internet.
• Proficiency with Springshare software (specifically LibGuides, LibAnswers, and Ask a Librarian).
• Proficiency with Zoom software.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
