About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate file management functions, including physical and electronic file intake, transfers, and destruction requests.
  • Manage records retention by ensuring the appropriate deletion of files that have met retention schedules.
  • Perform general file room duties such as file creation, labeling, tracking, storage, and retrieval.
  • Update and maintain Firm Records Management Systems (RMS) and Document Management Systems (DMS).
  • Respond to queries from attorneys and staff regarding file locations, folder structures, and organization.
  • Collaborate with the RIG Transfer Team on importing and exporting electronic client matter data.
  • Assist in communicating information storage and governance standards to Firm personnel.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of recent information governance and records management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and transport 25-30 pounds, including stooping and bending.
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
  • Prior experience with NetDocuments or FileTrail.
  • Experience using professional Records Management and Document Management Systems.
