About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate primary functions of the Records & Information Governance team, including physical and electronic file management.
- Manage file intake, transfers, destruction requests, and data access requests.
- Oversee records retention and ensure the appropriate deletion of files that have met retention schedules.
- Perform general file room duties such as file creation, labeling, tracking, storage, and retrieval.
- Update and maintain Firm Records Management Systems (RMS) and Document Management Systems (DMS).
- Respond to queries from attorneys and staff regarding file location, folder structure, and organization.
- Collaborate with the RIG Transfer Team on importing and exporting electronic client matter data.
- Assist in communicating information storage and governance standards to Firm personnel.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of recent information governance and records management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and transport 25-30 pounds, including stooping and bending.
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
- Experience with NetDocuments or FileTrail.
- Prior experience with professional Records Management and Document Management Systems.
