Infection Prevention Officer

Responsibilities

• Support adherence to infectious disease prevention, management, and reporting guidelines
• Implement infectious disease precautions, including isolation, cohorting, and quarantine recommendations
• Manage medical intake screening processes, specifically tuberculosis screening
• Maintain medical employee health documentation, including vaccination records and exposure logs
• Support staff education on health emergencies, CPR, and infection-related practices
• Monitor compliance and readiness for inspections, audits, and corrective actions
• Escalate urgent infection-control concerns or noncompliance to facility leadership

Requirements

• Unrestricted and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program
• Ability to perform physical tasks in a hazardous/austere environment, including lifting 30+ lbs
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residence
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and medical examination

• Proficiency in Spanish
