Infection Prevention Officer

Responsibilities

• Support infectious disease prevention, management, screening, and reporting
• Implement infectious disease precautions and tuberculosis screening processes
• Maintain medical employee health documentation and vaccination records
• Provide staff education on health emergencies and infection-related practices
• Coordinate with internal leadership and public health authorities
• Monitor compliance with infection-control expectations and airborne precautions
• Track employee immunization documentation, titers, and declination forms
• Complete accurate reports, logs, and documentation for facility leadership

Requirements

• Unrestricted and current Registered Nurse license in Texas (or ability to obtain)
• Graduate degree or diploma from an accredited professional nursing program
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to perform duties in a stressful and austere environment
• Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 30 pounds
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residence
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and medical examination

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Spanish
