Infection Prevention Control Officer LPN

Responsibilities

• Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program within a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation/sub-acute care setting
• Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests
• Manage and administer COVID/Flu testing schedules as required
• Educate staff on CDC updates and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Serve as the facility knowledge specialist regarding CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations

Requirements

• Active LPN licensure in the state of practice
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Two (2) or more years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or a related healthcare professional
• Knowledge of microbiology, infectious diseases, and epidemiology in patient care practices
• CDC - IPCO Certification required (or must be willing to complete within 5 days of employment)
• Familiarity with CDC and Joint Commission standards
