Industry and Employer Engagement Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead on-campus recruitment programs and develop comprehensive employer and student-alumni engagement strategies.
• Act as a primary point of contact for local, national, and international employers seeking to connect with students.
• Build and sustain collaborative educational partnerships with faculty, alumni, and industry organizations.
• Oversee CRM strategy and software platforms to manage job postings, mentorship programs, and employer relationships.
• Plan and design career-related programming, including career fairs, speaker series, and workshops, utilizing social media for promotion.
• Collaborate with faculty and various university units to align career readiness with academic disciplines.
• Supervise, mentor, and train student staff, co-op students, and volunteers.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of five years of related experience in an appropriate business specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Valid BC Driver's License and access to own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Prior experience in higher education or knowledge of university systems and structures.
• Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating complex programs and measuring their effectiveness.
• Proficiency with CRM and career management platforms (e.g., Symplicity).
• Knowledge of current trends in higher education, graduate employability, and global labour markets.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
