Industrial Safety Specialist II

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer industrial safety programs to ensure compliance with ES&H standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to field and office operations to maintain compliance with international, Federal, and State health and safety regulations.
• Identify workplace hazards and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and hazard controls.
• Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress.
• Perform incident and event investigations and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Support the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) through assessments, initiatives, and annual reports.
• Oversee safety committees, employee recognition mechanisms, and safety training programs.
• Monitor and prevent hazards and diseases within the work area to protect employees and the environment.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science or engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience with a BS degree, or 1+ years of related experience with an MS degree.
• Ability to work on-site at the construction site near Richland, WA, on a 4x10 schedule (Monday–Thursday).
• Ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
• Previous experience in nuclear, heavy construction, chemical processing, or petroleum refining environments.
