Industrial Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial hygiene exposure sampling for silica, VOCs, noise, and nuisance dust
• Conduct and produce exposure assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Determine appropriate sampling equipment and methodologies for specific hazards
• Setup, calibrate, and operate industrial hygiene sampling equipment
• Maintain equipment management files and conduct personnel training
• Notify supervisors and affected personnel of sampling results in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records including fit-test records and medical surveillance information
• Prepare and submit Exposure Assessment Reports and Sampling Plans in compliance with 10 CFR 851.21
• Evaluate exposure data sources including SDS, asbestos, lead, and physical hazards
• Recommend and implement exposure controls to protect worker safety

Requirements

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential OR
• Baccalaureate degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Medicine plus 7 years of industrial hygiene experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Safety or Industrial Hygiene
• 7+ years of relevant sampling experience
