About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and manage environment, health, and safety (EHS) programs and strategic objectives for the facility.
- Identify and assess workplace exposure risks involving chemical agents (dust, solvents, asbestos) and physical agents (noise, vibration, laser).
- Develop strategies to manage exposures at the source using the ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principle.
- Lead respiratory protection and hearing surveillance programs, including sampling protocols and long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE strategies.
- Lead incident investigations regarding chemical and physical exposures using root cause analysis methods such as 5-why or why tree.
- Provide guidance and support to management and project teams to ensure employee health, safety, and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as environmental/safety management, engineering, or science.
- 3 years of professional experience in the field of Industrial Hygiene.
- Proven experience managing Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics risks within the FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or other high-hazard sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified or Registered Industrial Hygienist with an internationally recognized professional organization.
- Formal education regarding Safety and Environmental requirements and regulations.
- Proficiency with EHS databases such as Cority IH, 3E, or VEHS (Humantech).
- Knowledge of Bayesian Statistics (IHDA Data Analyst).
- Experience leading or participating in corporate wellness programs.
