About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a global subject matter expert for industrial hygiene, providing guidance on occupational health hazards and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE.
- Develop and review EHS standards and training materials covering topics such as respiratory protection, ergonomics, and heat stress.
- Monitor regulatory developments (OSHA, EPA, EU) to ensure program compliance, specifically regarding high-profile chemicals and PFAS.
- Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, and specialized testing to assess exposure levels.
- Create and analyze metrics and KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Support audit programs and participate in corporate networks to share best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, industrial hygiene, or a related scientific/engineering field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or related industrial environment.
- Functional knowledge of respiratory protection, chemical protective equipment, ventilation, ergonomics, and radiation safety.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations including OSHA, EPA, and EU standards.
- Proven experience in air sampling, noise monitoring, and risk assessment techniques.
- Strong project management and change leadership skills.
- Ability to travel to various worksites up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from an accredited institution (BCSP, ABIH, AAEES).
- Experience managing programs within a global organization.
- Experience with EHS management systems such as RC14001, ISO14001, or ISO45001.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
