About the role
Responsibilities
- Respond to fires, hazardous materials, and medical emergencies using appropriate extinguishing agents and equipment
- Operate and maintain fire apparatus, pumps, hoses, nozzles, and specialized firefighting tools
- Conduct search and rescue operations, including confined space, high-angle, and machine rescue
- Identify, assess, and mitigate hazardous material spills and perform decontamination procedures
- Provide immediate pre-hospital medical care, including CPR, AED operation, and first aid
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fire suppression systems, alarms, and extinguishers
- Conduct facility safety inspections to identify potential fire hazards or non-compliance issues
- Support the Incident Command System (ICS) and participate in pre-incident planning
- Provide dedicated safety coverage for high-risk operations such as hot work and confined space entry
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II certification (or equivalent)
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency services experience as a certified firefighter
- Ability to pass an NFPA firefighter physical
- Full flexibility to work rotational shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- NFPA 472/1072 Hazardous Materials Operations Certification
- EMT-B or higher certification
- Relevant Technical Rescue certifications (e.g., Confined Space, High-Angle, or Vehicle Extrication)
