Industrial Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the pilot reactor system and associated equipment, including computer-based control systems
• Read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment manuals, and safety procedures
• Lead fabrication activities including structural and pipe welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly
• Operate machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and angle grinders
• Plan and execute rigging operations for heavy equipment, pressure vessels, and reactor components
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems including valves, pumps, motors, and instrumentation
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and supervise contractor work
• Source parts and materials from suppliers and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and compliance with OSHA, ASME, NFPA, EPA, and DOT standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on industrial technician experience (10+ preferred)
• Welding proficiency (MIG, TIG, stick); AWS certification preferred
• Machining and general metal fabrication experience
• Working knowledge of industrial rigging and safe lift planning
• Procurement experience including sourcing parts and managing spare parts inventory
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, and equipment manuals
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards (OSHA, ASME, NFPA, LOTO, confined space)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, outdoor conditions)
