Industrial Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vehicle launch, retooling, and model change programs by optimizing operator workflows and assembly line balance.
• Develop standardized work instructions and balance operator workloads to align with target takt times.
• Perform throughput and bottleneck analyses to identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints.
• Review product models within Teamcenter to optimize build sequencing.
• Present station readiness plans and line balances to steering committees and core launch teams.
• Provide strategic direction to Station Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Validate PFMEA and process documentation to ensure compliance and secure launch approval.
• Support pilot builds, tool tryouts, and process validation during pre-production phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in vehicle assembly manufacturing or a similar assembly environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for line layouts and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter / JT2Go for reviewing product models.
• Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, line balancing, and standardized work.
• Solid understanding of PFMEA and ergonomic design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to digital ergonomic tools such as Process Simulate Human or ErgoMan.
• Experience specifically supporting vehicle launch, retooling, or model change programs.
