Industrial Electrician

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to production requests for electrical support to ensure minimum downtime
• Minimize production downtime through preventive maintenance and implementation of maintenance programs
• Conduct audits and assessments on production equipment to ensure operating standards are met
• Diagnose malfunctioning components, systems, and apparatus using testing tools
• Inspect electrical components for defects, hazards, or repair needs to ensure code compliance
• Assemble, test, and maintain electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, and fixtures
• Follow blueprints and plan layouts for installing electrical wiring and equipment
• Perform administrative duties including maintaining files, ordering supplies, and preparing reports
• Collaborate with the maintenance team and provide training to apprentices

Requirements

• Post-secondary education as an electrician or electrical engineer
• Working knowledge of PLCs and Servo drives
• Ability to write logic for Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and Direct Logic
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
• Ability to work in a production environment (temperature, humidity, noise)
• Must be able to legally work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Seal Certified Industrial Electrician
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
