Industrial Electrician - Automation & Smart Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on electrical and automation maintenance, including fault finding, repairs, wiring, and assembly of control panels
• Provide automation coverage for maintenance activities, capital works, upgrades, and new equipment installations
• Support commissioning activities and the ongoing optimisation of new and existing equipment
• Collaborate with engineers and operations stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and improve system reliability
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors when specialist support is required
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and isolation plans to ensure safe work practices
• Proactively identify risks and implement improvements to automation and safety systems

Requirements

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current A-Grade SA Electrical Licence
• Post-trade experience as an automation-focused electrician in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry
• Strong experience with PLC and automation systems, with Siemens exposure highly regarded
• Hands-on experience with automated machinery, control systems, and industrial plant
• Ability to work at heights, including crane maintenance, when required
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
