About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with the installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC and wood processing equipment
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability
- Install and replace electrical wiring, receptacles, conduits, and other electrical components
- Test electrical motors, transformers, and control systems for voltage, amperage, and continuity
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform conduit work and technical repairs
- Document all repairs, setups, and maintenance activities
- Identify and report hazards to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and LOTO protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S principles
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Skilled Trades Ontario recognized electrical in-school training program
- Knowledge of PLC, VFD, CNC, and servo systems
- Strong understanding of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and OEM manuals
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and basic mathematical data
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime and weekends as required
