About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of electrical, controls, and communication issues on complex production lines
  • Support Automation Technicians in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Set up and troubleshoot motion control systems, including Servo motors/drives and VFDs
  • Maintain and update in-line vision systems such as Cognex
  • Plan and implement PLC and HMI software upgrades and perform functional verifications
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and complex automated system drawings
  • Write test procedures to demonstrate the effectiveness of software and hardware upgrades
  • Document all work performed clearly and concisely within a medical device environment
  • Collaborate with the automation team on the qualification process of automated systems
  • Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software for automation solutions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, motion control, VFDs, Servo motors/drives, industrial networks, and vision inspection systems
  • Associates degree, military technical training, or vocational training in Industrial Controls Technology
  • Proficiency with software such as RSLOGIX, Logics Designer, Factory Talk, Ignition, Cognex, Insight, or Siemens S7
  • Ability to work the night shift (6pm – 6am) on a rotating basis
  • Strong awareness of electrical and general safety protocols
