About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting and repair of electrical, controls, and communication issues on complex production lines
- Support Automation Technicians in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Set up and troubleshoot motion control systems, including Servo motors/drives and VFDs
- Maintain and update in-line vision systems such as Cognex
- Plan and implement PLC and HMI software upgrades and perform functional verifications
- Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and complex automated system drawings
- Write test procedures to demonstrate the effectiveness of software and hardware upgrades
- Document all work performed clearly and concisely within a medical device environment
- Collaborate with the automation team on the qualification process of automated systems
- Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software for automation solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, motion control, VFDs, Servo motors/drives, industrial networks, and vision inspection systems
- Associates degree, military technical training, or vocational training in Industrial Controls Technology
- Proficiency with software such as RSLOGIX, Logics Designer, Factory Talk, Ignition, Cognex, Insight, or Siemens S7
- Ability to work the night shift (6pm – 6am) on a rotating basis
- Strong awareness of electrical and general safety protocols
