About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide instrumentation and electrical control engineering services, including design, estimating, and system troubleshooting.
- Promote the use of automation technology to increase equipment effectiveness and reduce maintenance costs.
- Assist maintenance technicians and production teams with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Develop and design reliable new and modified installations in collaboration with maintenance and process engineers.
- Manage a life cycle asset management program for site I&E control equipment.
- Design and deploy new instrumentation and control strategies to optimize product yield and energy usage.
- Coach and mentor personnel on various instrumentation technologies.
- Create and maintain accurate design drawings, specifications, and loop sheets.
- Lead and support HAZOP Team studies and supervise contractor work.
- Adhere to all plant HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering (candidates with other technical degrees and strong field instrumentation experience will be considered).
- Four years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, specifically within chemical or refining processes.
- Expertise in the application, implementation, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation.
- Proficiency in specifying industrial instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and density.
- Experience specifying valves and final control elements for chemical manufacturing.
- Ability to design loop sheets, equipment control wiring diagrams, and motor control circuitry.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Ability to define and select materials of construction for chemical compatibility.
