Indirect Materials Buyer

Responsibilities

• Purchase indirect materials, goods, and services to meet operational needs while ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with Yazaki Group Purchasing and plant requirements.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and strategic partners, including the preparation and presentation of awarding decisions.
• Conduct market analysis, review RFQs, and validate sourcing packages.
• Build and manage a local/regional supplier panel and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate and standardize contracts for supply and services.
• Create, send, and track purchase orders while monitoring deliveries.
• Collaborate with operations to identify cost optimization opportunities through spend consolidation and standardization.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
• Previous experience in indirect material purchasing, including negotiation and contract management.
• Fluent English at an upper-intermediate level.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of industry-standard software platforms such as SAP, Coupa, or SRM.
• Ability to identify value-add opportunities and contribute to business improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in facility management services and related contract management.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to perform cost breakdowns.
