Indirect Buyer

Responsibilities

• Manage and support supplier relationships, including negotiations, specific agreements, and performance monitoring
• Monitor daily supplier performance and resolve initial issues before escalation
• Support and deploy procurement strategies defined by commodity managers
• Handle sporadic site requests and place purchase orders in a timely manner
• Drive cost negotiations and align purchase orders with established budgets
• Ensure the timely delivery of goods and services according to established timelines
• Manage project-related costs and risks while ensuring invoice approvals are processed on time
• Adhere to Alstom's code of ethics and procurement processes

Requirements

• Master's degree in Procurement, Operations Management, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar procurement or purchasing role
• Fluency in both French and English
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office
• Knowledge of Ariba
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage contracts
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
• Ability to travel within Canada and the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within the railway or transportation industry
