Independent Reviewing Officer

Responsibilities

• Chair Looked After Child (LAC) reviews to ensure care plans meet statutory requirements
• Monitor and track progress against care plans and escalate concerns
• Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making processes
• Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, and partner agencies
• Provide professional challenge and oversight regarding legislation and guidance compliance
• Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports

Requirements

• Social Work England registration
• Post-qualified experience in children’s services, ideally as an IRO
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
• Full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to work in the UK
