Responsibilities
- Review medical records and address client questions using evidence-based criteria
- Ensure rationales for determinations are clear, concise, and substantiated by documentation
- Utilize national, state, and professional association guidelines for objective decision-making
- Return completed cases on or before the specified due date and time
- Perform telephone calls as mandated by state or client requirements
- Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and necessary certifications
- Respond to quality assurance issues, regulatory matters, depositions, or audits
Requirements
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active medical practice
- Valid New York State medical license
- Experience completing Independent Medical Exams (IME)
- New York State Workers' Comp certification preferred
