Incoming Quality Control Inspector - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical inspections for purchased parts, 3D-printed components, CNC-machined items, and electro-mechanical components
• Conduct precision inspections including receiving, in-process, and final assembly using hand measurement systems and CMM
• Document non-conformance within internal ERP, MES, and issue tracking systems
• Collaborate with engineering and management to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points
• Coordinate with Production personnel to prioritize workload and meet delivery milestones
• Embody a Built in Quality philosophy to prevent defects from progressing downstream

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance role within a mechanical manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with hand measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.)
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work the 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM Monday – Thursday shift
• Specific vision abilities required for close, distance, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
• Physical ability to commute to buildings and work in environments with occasional dust, fumes, and noise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in space manufacturing or engine build environments
• Experience with precision equipment such as comparators, Romer arms, or CMMs (Aberlink/PC-DMIS)
• Experience performing visual inspections using a borescope
• Inspection experience with aerospace components and assemblies
• Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
