Incoming Quality Control Inspector - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical inspections for purchased parts, 3D-printed components, and CNC-machined items
• Conduct detailed inspections of composite materials, components, and assemblies
• Execute precision inspections including receiving, in-process, and final assembly
• Document non-conformance using internal ERP, MES, and issue tracking systems
• Collaborate with engineering to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points
• Coordinate with Production to prioritize workload and meet delivery milestones
• Maintain a Built in Quality philosophy to prevent defects from progressing downstream

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance role within mechanical manufacturing
• Proficiency with hand measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.)
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work the 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday – Friday shift
• Physical ability to commute to buildings and work in a composite manufacturing environment
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Prior experience in aerospace or automotive industries
