About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to 1–3 students with special education needs
- Ensure student safety and engagement in program activities
- Assist with assignments, study skills, and learning tools
- Use positive reinforcement and structured behavior management
- Collaborate with staff and families to implement student support plans
Requirements
- At least 3 months of experience working with children with special needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- CPR/First Aid certification (can be provided if needed)
- Strong communication, patience, and ability to maintain composure under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Students pursuing Education, Child Development, or Psychology coursework/degrees
- Experience in after-school programs, summer camps, tutoring, or youth mentoring
- Bilingual communication skills
