Inbound Transportation Management Specialist

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations, including pickup reservation management, vehicle dispatch coordination, and inquiry handling.
• Manage exceptions and escalations, such as truck delays, load discrepancies, or site access issues, by collaborating with internal departments.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including pickup success rates, on-time arrival rates, and delivery accuracy.
• Drive process improvements by identifying operational challenges and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Act as a shift leader to support team members and ensure stable, smooth daily transportation operations.
• Respond to emergencies such as severe weather, accidents, or system failures to ensure rapid communication and resolution.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional work experience in any industry.
• Business-level Japanese proficiency (capable of facilitating meetings and creating business documents).
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (ability to use multiple functions and pivot tables for data analysis).
• Practical experience in project management or process improvement.
• Ability to work on a shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in logistics, transportation, or distribution industries.
• Experience in operations management, including KPI, performance, or workflow management.
• Experience using databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, Redshift, or MySQL.
• Business-level English proficiency for email communication and basic meetings.
• Experience driving projects involving multiple stakeholders.
