About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory computer science courses (20-120 students) using CodePath's industry-aligned curriculum in Python, Java, or C++.
- Deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons and adapt materials to align with university course structures and student needs.
- Hold regular in-person office hours to support student learning and encourage participation.
- Manage and mentor Teaching Assistants (Tech Fellows) to support classroom instruction.
- Integrate enrichment components such as technical interview preparation workshops and career resources.
- Collaborate with internal CodePath teams and external university faculty/administrators to ensure program alignment.
- Participate in summer onboarding and training to master instructional strategies and teaching tools.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, or C++.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and prior experience in classroom leadership or instruction.
- Ability to reside near the assigned campus and be on-site from August through December 2026.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related field (required at select partner institutions).
- Experience mentoring or managing junior developers.
- Prior experience teaching technical courses at the university level.
- Fluency in Spanish (specifically for the UPRM location).

- Total pay ranging from $72,000 to $88,000 for the full assignment.
