About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all ongoing litigation matters in the United States and Mexico, including risk assessment and settlement opportunities.
- Oversee insurance matters, including coverage issues, claims handling, and annual renewal management with internal stakeholders and brokers.
- Maintain corporate governance documentation, board records, and statutory filings for legal entities in the U.S. and Americas region.
- Provide legal counsel to the HR department regarding employment law, labor matters, and immigration filings.
- Support commercial operations including real estate, purchasing, sales, and intellectual property matters.
- Manage and direct outside counsel and third-party legal vendors effectively.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5–8 years of related legal experience, preferably in an in-house or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment, and contract law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Experience supporting multi-site business operations.
- Experience managing cross-border or international legal matters.
- Proficiency with SAP.
