Import & Export Specialist I

Responsibilities

• Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments for the Abbott-Costa Rica facility.
• Prepare and manage export documentation including invoices, packing lists, certificates, and customs declarations.
• Ensure full compliance with local Free Zone regulations and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update negotiated international freight rates to support decision-making.
• Liaise with customs agents and government authorities to secure necessary approvals and timely clearance.
• Track in-transit shipments end-to-end and coordinate local transportation between ports, airports, and warehouses.
• Maintain export records for audits and support cross-functional data management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Customs, or a related field (or a Technician degree with at least 75% completion).
• 0-2 years of experience in similar import/export or logistics roles.
• Proficient computer skills, including data analysis and report writing.
• Intermediate proficiency in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the medical device industry.
• Demonstrated experience managing export processes under Free Zone regulations.
• Experience working in GMP, ISO, or FDA controlled environments.
