Import/Export Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the entire import and export process for goods shipped from Singapore to APAC and international markets.
• Ensure compliance with APAC customs regulations, including tariff classifications, HS codes, import/export permits, and VAT requirements.
• Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities to facilitate seamless clearance of goods.
• Troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues, delays, discrepancies, or customs complications.
• Prepare and manage essential shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Diploma or BA Degree.
• 4-6 years of proven experience in import/export coordination, international shipping, or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of APAC customs laws, tariffs, taxes, and international trade agreements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Familiarity with Incoterms and export control regulations.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with proficiency in English.
• Ability to work in a dynamic global environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Former experience working within a High-Tech company or an Operations function.
• Familiarity with Major Export Schemes and GST regulations.
