Import and Export Consultant

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate HTS, ECCN, and global tariff classification for new parts, components, and finished products using technical specifications and engineering data.
• Support the classification of service offerings, including the analysis of parts, tools, and digital products to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Product Management, providing guidance on classification impacts and timely responses to support program timelines.
• Develop and deliver training on classification processes, regulatory updates, and documentation requirements to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain detailed classification records and documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy in global systems and to support internal or external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of US trade regulations, including the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• Proven ability to interpret technical product data, such as data sheets, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Fluency in English with strong communication skills for providing guidance and conducting training.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Legal.
• Proficiency with trade compliance systems such as Oracle or Global Trade Management (GTM).
• Advanced skills in Excel or similar data management tools.
