About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the technical onboarding and go-live for Canary's Voice AI product, including number provisioning, telephony configuration, and transfer logic.
- Lead telephony requirements calls with hotel IT teams, PBX vendors, and carriers to coordinate number porting and carrier changes.
- Debug routing and call-quality issues by analyzing SIP logs and diagnosing problems across SIP trunking, SBCs, and PBX rules.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for live telephony issues post-launch to ensure seamless property operations.
- Partner with the Product team to design modern conversational AI call flows and escalation paths.
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on telephony compliance, including E911, STIR/SHAKEN, and TCPA.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting voice/telephony systems (VoIP, SIP trunking, SBCs, or PBX platforms like Mitel, Avaya, or Cisco).
- Proven ability to read SIP logs and independently debug routing and call quality issues such as latency, jitter, or transfer declines.
- Strong working knowledge of number porting, carrier functions, and telephony compliance (STIR/SHAKEN, TCPA, E911).
- Experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to lead technical conversations with IT professionals and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hospitality-specific systems, such as PMS integrations or in-room phone setups.
- Background working with CCaaS platforms or AI voice products.
- Familiarity with PCI compliance awareness.
