About the role

Responsibilities

  • Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools and gather metrology data to ensure film properties meet specifications
  • Transfer and duplicate recipes across lines to ensure process matching across fabs and between tools using statistical tools
  • Monitor the wafer fabrication process by responding to in-line issues and abnormal product dispositions
  • Create troubleshooting plans and apply corrective action plans to resolve process deviations
  • Use software such as Spotfire, JMP, MATLAB, or Excel to analyze data for SPC, trend analysis, and root-cause investigations
  • Implement Change-Point Management (CPM) and defense-lines to prevent excursions
  • Draft, review, and update SOPs and process reference books, and provide training to technicians
  • Work cross-departmentally with vendors and other teams to improve yield, reliability, cost, and throughput

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of semiconductor experience, specifically with knowledge of Thermal Anneal (RTP) or Surface Treatment/Dry Etch processes and equipment
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Change Point Management
  • Proficiency in data analysis software including Spotfire, JMP, or Matlab
  • Experience with scripting in Python, VBA, or an equivalent language
  • Ability to work in a FAB environment, wear cleanroom suits/PPE, and lift up to 35 lbs
  • Strong structured problem-solving skills (e.g., 8D, 7-step) and excellent technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific semiconductor tools such as AMAT Centura, Mattson Millios, LAM Argos, Semes HPA, or Veeco LSA
