About the role
Responsibilities
- Support daily Immunohistochemistry laboratory operations, including specimen preparation and technical testing
- Perform IHC techniques such as embedding, microtomy, tissue processing, reagent preparation, and antibody staining
- Execute and document IHC quality control activities according to established laboratory procedures
- Assist with IHC instrument maintenance, including daily setup, cleaning, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment, staining, reagent, and workflow-related issues
- Assist with antibody validation, optimization, and lot-to-lot validation
- Maintain accurate quality control, quality assurance, and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with FDA, CAP/CLIA, NYS, and Joint Commission requirements
- Work collaboratively with pathologists and team members to support patient care and turnaround times
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or eligibility
- Certified Histological Technologist license or eligibility
- Knowledge of IHC instruments, antibodies, staining patterns, and antibody reactivity
- Ability to perform accurate laboratory calculations and dilutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior professional experience in Histology and/or Immunohistochemistry

- 10% overnight shift differential
- 10% additional differential for Sunday shifts
