About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing, compiling, and filing applications for humanitarian immigration benefits (Asylum, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, U/T visas, etc.) before USCIS and EOIR
  • Monitor pending immigration cases and utilize case management systems to track critical deadlines and filing windows
  • Review and analyze immigration mail from USCIS and EOIR, providing daily digests and flagging required actions to the legal team
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for immigration clients, communicating fluently in Spanish to gather information and provide status updates
  • Maintain oversight of internal templates, training materials, and procedural updates
  • Prepare "punch lists" and evidence packages for client interview preparation
  • Accurately enter and close time entries in the firm’s time recording system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5–7 years of immigration experience, preferably with a background in humanitarian pathways (Asylum, U/T Visas, TPS)
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and oral) is strictly required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to prioritize a diverse caseload and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Experience with immigration case management software
