Immigration Advisor Sarawak

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advisory and operational support on East Malaysia (Sarawak) immigration matters to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage end-to-end work permit and business travel processes for Shell Malaysia employees and contractors.
• Advise business and project teams on immigration requirements and current state restrictions.
• Partner with state immigration authorities, Government Relations, HR Operations, and external service providers like Vialto.
• Proactively manage new and renewal work permit applications to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
• Support project teams in obtaining contractor licenses to operate and provide services to Shell.

Requirements

• At least 3-4 years of relevant working experience in immigration or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of immigration requirements and processes specific to Sarawak.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with state regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations regarding challenges and timelines.
• High level of attention to detail regarding application accuracy and the protection of sensitive data.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills to navigate changes in policies or restrictions.
