Image Processing Engineer IV

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact monitoring algorithmic development
• Design, simulate, and evaluate advanced image processing and computer vision algorithms for real time object detection, tracking, and characterization
• Analyze and model sensor and optical system performance to determine feasibility and optimize hardware configurations
• Architect scalable algorithms for space domain awareness and rendezvous and proximity operations

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Optical Sciences, or a related technical discipline
• Deep expertise in image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition
• Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++
• Experience with Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor modeling and radiometric budgets
• 8 to 12+ years of progressive experience in image processing and computer vision engineering
• Experience managing technical milestones with external vendors or subcontractors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience processing or integrating Active Optical sensors like LiDAR
• Experience implementing algorithms on constrained flight hardware such as FPGAs, GPUs, or embedded systems
• Familiarity with space-based operational domains or orbital mechanics
