Ignite Scholar, Research Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

• Conduct innovative research within a mentor's laboratory to develop an independent research program
• Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
• Write and submit at least one extramural grant application (e.g., NIH or NSF)
• Collaborate with senior mentors to formulate and execute a personalized research development plan
• Participate in professional development, networking, and regular guidance committee meetings
• Engage in minimal teaching responsibilities (approximately 5 hours per year) for the Research Track
• Contribute to the research environment through lab meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration

Requirements

• PhD in biomedical sciences or a closely related discipline
• Eligibility to submit NIH or NSF proposals
• Demonstrated research experience with a track record of first-author publications in high-impact journals
• Proficiency in research techniques relevant to your specific area of study
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research setting

• Early postdoctoral experience
