About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, instrumentation, and analytical equipment.
- Follow electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, P&IDs, and blueprints to ensure proper installation and repair.
- Inspect instrumentation periodically and perform calibrations to ensure accuracy using test equipment like HART communicators, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.
- Install power supply and signal wiring, cables, cable trays, and conduit for new machinery and distributive control systems.
- Replace faulty electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Maintain an inventory of repair and replacement spare parts.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain DCS and PLC logic systems, including developing and modifying PLC code.
- Analyze plant operations through the DCS system and make configuration changes within MOC guidelines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of five years of instrument and electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited formal training program in Process Instrumentation and Control and Electronics.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment (experience beyond residential or commercial work is required).
- Willingness to participate in a weekend call rotation and be available for urgent call-ins in a union environment.
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Systems (ISO9000/14001), GMP, and Responsible Care.
Preferred Qualifications
- A licensed electrician credential through the state of Pennsylvania.
