About the role

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot DCS (Digital Control System) control interfaces, including level, flow, and pressure measurement equipment
  • Maintain, repair, and test emergency shutdown valves, control valves, positioners, and actuators
  • Perform routine installation and calibration of instrument or electrical systems
  • Read and interpret piping, instrument, and electrical drawings
  • Diagnose and apply results using various test equipment to repair electrical or instrument systems
  • Apply Electrical Safety Rules in accordance with site and OSHA standards
  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage equipment and power distribution systems
  • Record work history and provide feedback for continuous improvement of maintenance plans

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of instrumentation industry experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience within the chemical or refining industry
  • Experience troubleshooting and operating Process Control Systems or DCS interfaces
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE
  • Detailed knowledge of HART-based communicators
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to work in various conditions, including outdoors, confined spaces, and at heights
  • Ability to reside within 60 minutes of the site or relocate within that timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry-accredited training or apprenticeship program in instrumentation
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance
  • Military Maintenance School training
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV or Det-Tronics fire and gas detection systems
  • Experience bending and creating new tubing runs (Swagelok or Parker)
