About the role
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot DCS control interfaces, including level, flow, pressure, and vibration measurement equipment
- Maintain, repair, and test emergency shutdown valves and control valves
- Perform routine installation and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems
- Read and interpret electrical, piping, and instrument drawings
- Diagnose system issues using various test equipment and apply results to maintenance plans
- Apply Electrical Safety Rules in accordance with site and OSHA standards
- Perform both reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and instrument components
- Record work history and provide feedback for continuous improvement of maintenance procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of instrumentation industry experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience within the chemical and refining industry
- Experience troubleshooting DCS control interfaces (Emerson DeltaV experience is a plus)
- Experience with PLCs, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE
- Detailed knowledge of HART-based communicators
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to work in various conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and inclement weather
- Must reside within 60 minutes of the site or be willing to relocate without assistance
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry-accredited training or apprenticeship program in instrumentation
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance
- Military Maintenance School training
- Experience with Det-Tronics fire and gas detection systems
- Experience bending and creating new tubing runs (Swagelok or Parker)
