ICS Cybersecurity Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform field verification and validation of cybersecurity design and implementation for renewable power generation and transmission assets
• Assure cybersecurity controls for Solar PV plants, Wind Turbine systems, BESS, HV/MV substations, and grid interconnections
• Develop and maintain OT cybersecurity asset registers, network diagrams, zone-conduit models, and risk registers
• Lead cyber risk assessments for power packages and OEM skid systems, tracking mitigation actions with vendors
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning by validating firewall rules, secure remote access, and endpoint hardening
• Oversee FAT, SAT, CSAT, and performance testing for substation automation, turbine control systems, and plant SCADA
• Coordinate with subcontractors and OEMs to control third-party access and remote connectivity
• Act as the technical cybersecurity interface between project execution, commissioning teams, OEMs, and client representatives
• Support OT cybersecurity handover to operations, including incident response alignment, backup, and recovery procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, or Process Automation preferred)
• 10-15 years of experience in Operational Technology (OT)
• At least 3 years focused on designing, building, or validating cybersecurity for industrial control systems and networks
• Proven experience with Saudi cyber standards including HCIS and NCA, or ISA 62443 industry standards
• Strong understanding of control systems such as SCADA, DCS, and PLCs
• Technical knowledge of protocols including Modbus, PROFINET, DNP3, and IEC61850
• Proficiency with cybersecurity technologies including Firewalls, IDS, and vulnerability assessments
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• OT/ICS cybersecurity relevant accreditations such as ISA/IEC62443, SANS, or other internationally recognized certifications
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools including Visio, SharePoint, and Teams
