IBM WebMethods ESB Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the IBM WebMethods ESB ecosystem, including Integration Server, Universal Messaging, Trading Networks, and API Gateway
• Manage ESB node clustering, high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and JVM tuning to ensure continuous uptime
• Perform platform patching, upgrades, and license management with minimal service disruption
• Manage ESB deployments via CI/CD, implementing deployment standards, environment parity, and rollback plans
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to define SLAs and proactively address performance issues
• Harden the ESB platform according to banking security standards, enforcing RBAC, audit logging, and data masking
• Act as an escalation point for production incidents and lead root cause analysis
• Design and validate backup and business continuity plans to ensure compliance with RTO/RPO requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
• 7+ years of experience in middleware or integration platform administration
• 3+ years of dedicated ESB administration experience
• Proven experience supporting enterprise middleware platforms within the banking or financial services sector
• Hands-on experience with WebMethods administration, including installation and clustering
• Strong Linux/Windows server administration skills and shell scripting
• Knowledge of messaging protocols such as MQ, HTTP/S, SOAP, and REST

Preferred Qualifications

• IBM WebMethods (Software AG) administration or infrastructure certification
• Certifications in Linux/Windows administration or cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure)
• Experience with core banking systems such as Equation, Laserfiche, or Cortex
• Familiarity with banking messaging standards like ISO 8583 or SWIFT
