IAM Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of new features and capabilities for Scotiabank’s next-generation CIAM platform (ForgeRock / Ping / PingOne).
• Provide subject matter expertise on security controls including MFA, Device Binding, and Session Control.
• Design migration patterns and solutions for business applications moving to modern CIAM capabilities (on-prem or SaaS).
• Translate business requirements into technical architectural designs for the IAM Engineering team.
• Create design artifacts outlining solutions, components, key decisions, and cost/time estimates for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security architecture, fraud, compliance, and business channels.
• Represent the CIAM Architecture team on governance boards to ensure stakeholder approval and strategic alignment.
• Implement designs based on industry standards such as FIDO, OIDC, OAUTH, and NIST 800-63B.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the IAM space with at least 3 years in an Architect role.
• 5+ years of experience specifically within the CIAM space.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with ForgeRock, PingAM, or PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud.
• Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or NodeJS.
• Experience with Java, SIEM integrations, and security monitoring.
• Strong understanding of MFA technologies and authentication/credential management flows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the banking or financial services sector.
• Experience preparing and presenting technical strategy decks to senior leadership.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or vendor-specific IAM certifications.
