IAM Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of new features and capabilities for Scotiabank’s IAM platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID, ForgeRock, SailPoint, and CyberArk.
• Design the technical roadmap for migrating user identities and applications from on-premises providers to the Microsoft Entra ID platform.
• Provide subject matter expertise on security controls such as MFA, Conditional Access Policies, and Intune Device Management.
• Oversee the modernization of workforce identity lifecycle platforms, ensuring alignment with risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with IAM Engineering to translate business requirements into technical architectural designs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including security architecture, fraud, and compliance to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Represent the IAM Architecture team on governance boards and provide necessary design artifacts for stakeholder approval.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space.
• 3+ years of experience in an Architect role.
• 5+ years of experience working with IAM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Entra, ForgeRock, SailPoint, CyberArk, Ping Identity).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Entra ID platform.
• Proven experience designing and implementing authentication and credential management flows.
• Strong understanding of workforce identity lifecycle patterns and anti-patterns.
• Experience developing and documenting IAM directives, standards, and policies.
• Previous exposure to Regulatory, Compliance, Risk, and Audit functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of project finance or experience working within the banking sector.
• Experience preparing and presenting presentation decks to senior leadership.
• Experience with Azure domain-joined or hybrid workstation configurations.
• Proficiency with Java-based programming languages (Java, JavaScript, NodeJS).
