About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on powerhouse equipment including motors, breakers, transformers, and relays
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control systems, including Ovation/WDPF control systems and PLCs
  • Execute equipment startups, shutdowns, and normal operations following approved procedures
  • Perform calibration of equipment and conduct daily monitoring of plant systems (oil levels, pressures, temperatures, etc.)
  • Conduct mechanical maintenance on boilers, turbines, pumps, and ash handling equipment
  • Serve as a member of station emergency response teams, such as Fire Brigade, Hazmat, or First Responder
  • Adhere to all station safety, environmental, and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and work orders using systems like Maximo

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of EEI's POSS (Plant Operator Selection System) or MASS (Power Plant Maintenance Selection System)
  • Ability to pass a respiratory physical and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights
  • Ability to work around equipment that generates electromagnetic fields (EMF)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and meet a weight restriction of 325 pounds for safe equipment operation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a 2-year technical degree
  • 4 years of demonstrated I&C related work experience
  • Experience with Ovation/WDPF control systems or PLCs
  • Previous experience in a power plant environment (Operations or Maintenance)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot fluid system operations (pumps, valves, boilers)
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and work management software
